My name is Matt Lewis and I am a survivalist and prepper. I’ve been a prepper for years, but recently became more into survivalism and the gear that is needed for that after deciding that I wanted to live more off the grid and away from society.
I’ve always had a passion for the outdoors, but it wasn’t until I began hiking in the mountains that I became aware of how much gear was needed in order to survive in the wilderness. I have spent the last several years learning everything I can about survival and prepping gear.
I am passionate about learning and am always willing to share the knowledge that I have gained with others. I enjoy the outdoors and live in a small town in the mountains and love to go on day hikes and overnight backpacking trips.
I have started to build a small off grid cabin in the mountains and am thrilled to live in the beautiful area.
Why another blog about this topic you might ask?
I started Gritty Survival because I was sick of the same old survival and prepper blogs and media sources. While they’re great, I wanted something more. I wanted a place where I could learn the latest gear, the best gear and the newest gear on the market. I’ve spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours, reading and researching survival and prepper gear.
I’ve tested things I’ve learned from other sources and found out they’re not as good as I thought, and I’ve also tested things I’ve seen on other blogs and found out they’re better than what I thought. I’ve found out that what I learned in basic training isn’t always the best way to prepare, and so I’ve learned a ton of new things from the internet, from other blogs and reading online about what others are doing. Due to this, I’ve decided to share my experiences with the world.
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy,
